Twin red salutations
Forest calling sound of bird and bear
One side of the canyon to the other
Modified stream in first day of April rain
Punishing clay, sparkling above the rock bed.
You are for tomorrow and I will explore
Your valley spaces your rising hills
Touch you with light and be touched
Versions of ourselves freely captured
In defiance of laws governing past or future
Taking heed only of this moment
We bend time and space to our selfish wills
Plaster over the broken holes of shame
Pull out a shovel of worms
And break all the heads off the dandelions.
